GenerationNation helps students to develop knowledge, skills and strategies needed for effective citizenship and leadership in the 21st century. Every year, thousands of Charlotte-area students participate in youth activities sponsored by GenerationNation, formerly known as Kids Voting Mecklenburg.  This is a great way for young people to experience exciting educational opportunities, learn about government and actively participate in the community.

Opportunities include:

• Teen programs including YouthCivics and Youth Leadership Alliance/Youth Voice
• Experience elections by voting and volunteering in Kids Voting Election activities
• Register to vote (or pre-register at age 16) and participate in the process: become involved in campaigns or leadership programs, get to know your government officials, attend government meetings, read the newspaper...be heard and get involved!
