GIVE STUDENTS AN ADVANTAGE
Students need to know how our
governments and communities work.
Otherwise, they can't succeed in school and graduate, or become effective
citizens and leaders. Yet every day, children and youth face civic learning
opportunity and achievement gaps due to trends in education, budget cuts and
other reasons.
HOW CAN YOU HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
By supporting GenerationNation, Charlotte's only organization
dedicated to K-12 civic education and youth civic leadership. The nonprofit
organization (501c3), which changed its name from Kids Voting Mecklenburg in
December 2011, connects classroom education with community experiences to help
students in school, build civic literacy and develop young people as effective
citizens and leaders.
CONNECT YOUR SCHOOL OR ORGANIZATION
Expand our reach, and yours. Programs and resources available for schools,
afterschool and youth programs, governments and others.
VOLUNTEER TIME AND TALENTS
Help us to educate students and build young civic leaders. Lend a hand for a
few hours, serve on a program committee, raise funds or serve in a leadership
role. A great way to get involved with children, youth, education, leadership
and government.
CONTRIBUTE FINANCIAL OR IN-KIND RESOURCES
Provide critical funds to support our current programs, build our capacity
and fuel our growth. We are grateful for individual gifts, grants, corporate
contributions, sponsorships and in-kind donations that help us to reach
thousands of K-12 students every year.
